My favorite podcasts

2 minutes read

Everyday tasks are boring, and I spent a considerable amount of my time doing them. Believe me, I track down every hour. I found that a good way to make those tasks a bit less annoying is to listen to podcasts while doing it.

Because of this, I’m often surprised when people say that doesn’t have time to listen to podcasts. I listen to a lot of them without a considerable effort, so here’s a list of the moments that I personally find good to listen:

My last advice is to be selective to what episodes do you want to listen. I won’t listen to episodes that are too boring or treats a subject that is not valuable to me.

Now, having said that, here is the list of podcasts that I enjoy:

You Are Not So Smart

you are not so smart

This is one of my favorites as it gives so much food for the thought. It treats interesting topics in the area of Psychology and human behavior. New episodes are not as frequent as I wish, but there is an extense list of old episodes to listen meanwhile.

Software Engineering Daily

software engineering daily

If you’re in the area of software development, this is a must-listen podcast. Tons of interesting topics about emerging technologies, and one episode per day!

Drama of the Week

bbc

One of my first podcasts, very like a radio theater, features a different drama every week. I have to say that the cast is usually wonderful and the stories are captivating.

The Joe Rogan Experience

joe rogan

Probably one of the most popular podcasts on the web, Joe Rogan brings a lot of interesting people to the table. I like the episodes when he invites Astrophysicists like Neil deGrasse Tyson or Lawrence Krauss.

The Minimalists Podcast

minimalists

Maybe you have heard of them on one of their TED talks. The episodes are not so long, and Joshua and Ryan talk about different aspects of life from their particular perspective: family, relationships, money, etc.

Venganzas del Pasado

In all honesty, this isn’t a podcast. Is a recording of a radio show distributed via the podcast platform. I like it a lot. Just a warning: it’s in Spanish.
